Without water, there's no life. Or more precisely: without EZ water, there's no life. But what exactly is this structured water everyone's talking about, and why is the discovery of this element so groundbreaking for improving your performance? In this article, we want to provide you with comprehensive knowledge about EZ water and therefore explore both sides of the science. Chapters 1 to 5 provide you with all the important information about EZ water. In Chapter 6, you'll learn why the alleged fourth state of aggregation of water receives little scientific attention.
1. EZ Water: Between ice and liquid
There is water in its normal liquid state. Then there is the gaseous water vapor that forms during boiling. And there is water in its frozen, solid state, as ice. These three phases are familiar to everyone, as we constantly encounter them in everyday life. But there is another state of water: EZ, short for "Exclusion Zone."
This fourth phase was discovered by water researcher Gerald Pollack of the University of Washington and describes a gel-like state between liquid and frozen [1]. Similar to ice, this gel also has a hexagonal, or six-sided, structure.
From this, the researchers conclude that liquid H2O first turns into EZ water upon cooling before freezing into ice. The same thing happens the other way around: When ice thaws, EZ water is first formed before it turns back into liquid H2O. Snowflakes have the same structure and are again considered an intermediate step between EZ water and ice.
However, this exclusion zone of the newly discovered water structure is only a thin layer in which the water begins to self-organize near hydrophilic surfaces. It also purifies itself, pushing all dissolved substances into the normal water layer. Hence the name "exclusion zone," as all substances and protons are displaced, i.e., excluded from this layer.
Extensive studies have shown that drinking water has a completely different structure than the water found in cells. This is because water-attracting surfaces are found everywhere in the organism—in fact, in every cell. Therefore, this EZ water is formed in the body from the water we drink. This gel state is what enables macromolecules and cell membranes to function.
2. The properties of EZ water (H3O2)
EZ water is also known as living, structured, or hexagonal water. It possesses many properties that continue to amaze scientists:
- It is negatively charged.
- It has a gel-like viscosity.
- It has a changed electronic resistance.
- It absorbs infrared light.
- It has an altered pH value.
- It cleans itself.
- It organizes itself.
- It has a hexagonal, crystal-like structure.

However, the anomaly of water may now become a little more tangible, because since Prof. Gerald Pollack discovered EZ water, nothing is as it was.
You've probably noticed that you're in a better mood and more productive when you're out in the sunshine—especially if you've spent some time outdoors enjoying the sun. Now we have the explanation: Sunlight has re-energized the water in your body, stimulated energy production in your cells, and activated the function of your nerve pathways.
Because water isn't just a means of transport—it's an active component of many of the body's functions. In fact, almost all of them. According to Pollack's theory, this EZ water can function like a battery, storing and releasing energy through exposure to sunlight or infrared light [2].
Because it's negatively charged. Unlike H2O, the formula for EZ water is H3O2. This causes the molecules to stick together, achieving a gel-like, sticky consistency that keeps the water together in the body. Strictly speaking, due to the changed chemical formula, it's no longer water at all, but a separate element.
According to Pollack, the combination of sunlight and water is the source of life, from which we all draw energy. It sounds far-fetched, but it has nothing to do with esotericism; it's pure physics. EZ water is, in fact, a spectacular discovery that is forcing chemistry, physics, and biology to rethink their approach. Because all processes in the human body can be explained and researched in a completely new way using this fourth state of matter.

4. Your body needs EZ water
It's common knowledge that water is essential to life and that humans should drink at least two liters of it daily. Its health-promoting effects are also no secret. But why H2O has such a profound impact on the body could now be explained by the discovery of EZ water, since humans are made up of about 70 percent water. According to Pollack, the largest portion of this is EZ water and a crucial factor for your performance:
- Energy : As already mentioned, water can be charged with energy through exposure to light. When exposed to sunlight or infrared light, the EZ content increases threefold, and the water is energized. This energy can then be used in a variety of ways. That's why a trip to an infrared sauna is more than just a wellness treatment for biohackers : The light leads to more EZ water in the body and unfolds its health-promoting effects. Finally, the well-intentioned advice to sit in the sun for at least a few minutes every day - without sunglasses and sunscreen, so that the sunlight is absorbed directly through the eyes and skin - also makes sense. Another finding is that, in addition to light, EZ water can also be influenced by oxygen and antioxidants . Antioxidants ensure that EZ water retains its negative charge. - Cells : Without EZ water, mitochondria cannot function. The cells' power plants need at least a small amount to produce enough adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP, in turn, is the cells' energy source—and the more ATP produced, the more energy is available. Cell division and cell renewal would also be impossible without water. Many celebrities like to cite the secret to their youthful appearance as drinking plenty of water every day. It's actually quite simple, because it actually works.
- Blood circulation : Energetic EZ water flows better through all of the body's cells and bloodstreams. Gerald Pollack discovered this in an experiment in which he let water flow through a narrow tube. When exposed to UV light, the water flowed through the tube five times faster [3]. This discovery explains the function of capillaries, cell membranes, and membrane tunnels: The charge of EZ water keeps the blood flowing constantly, transporting oxygen and nutrients to the smallest blood vessels. • Health prevention: Due to its negative charge, structured water can interact with proteins. Since many diseases are caused by protein dysfunction, the discovery of EZ could now be used for health prevention.
- Nerve cells : The negative charge has another advantage: it allows the EZ water to help the nerve cells communicate. The charge ensures that signals and information are transmitted more effectively between the nerve cells. If there is too little EZ water in the cells, the transmission works less well. You can clearly see this because you become unconcentrated or unfocused. Drinking water is the simple and effective solution, coupled with a short stay outside. The positive effect on the transmission of nerve signals was conclusively proven in an experiment that tested the negative effects of anesthetics. The use of anesthetics, both injected and sprayed onto the skin, demonstrably reduced the EZ layer, and at the same time decreased the transmission of information in the nerve pathways [4].
- Joints : Joints wouldn't function without EZ water. The charge in the EZ layer creates a kind of buffer that prevents the bones from pressing against each other. The EZ water also keeps the joints supple.
- Muscles : Even muscle tissue consists largely of water, which plays a major role in muscle contraction due to its EZ content.

5. Sources of EZ water
Due to the findings surrounding the significant impact of EZ water on the human body, the effects of water from mineral springs have been studied more closely. Previously, it was assumed that the mineral composition caused the positive health effects.
In fact, it turns out that water from mineral springs also contains high levels of EZ, such as glacial springs or springs that originate deep within rocks. Researchers have not yet discovered a reliable method for producing EZ water. However, freshly squeezed juices, swirled water, and glacial water are known to be good sources.
Placing a carafe of water in the sun also seems to be a way to change its structure and energetically charge the water. Even stones in water may soon lose their reputation as esoteric nonsense and be perceived as a serious method for producing living water.
6. EZ-Water criticism
Do the effects of EZ water sound too good to be true? Then you're like many others. In addition to the scientific terms EZ water and hexagonal water, you also frequently come across terms like revitalized, levitated, vitalized, and informed water. Grander water, specifically marketed by Johann Grander, is also very well known.
Claims that water revitalization has a detoxifying and bactericidal effect could not be confirmed in numerous tests.[5] [6] The claim that Grander water is more energetic and therefore absorbs less UV radiation was also refuted in 2005.
7. Conclusion
The effects of EZ water continue to be controversial. Numerous tests have refuted the claimed effects. Nevertheless, there are still many people who are convinced of the positive effects of hexagonal water.
