Strengthen self-confidence
Strengthen self-confidence through “The Law of Attraction”
In 2007, the film "The Secret" was released. Shortly thereafter, the plot was adapted into a book and garnered worldwide popularity. The law of attraction described in it addressed the topic of strengthening self-confidence as well as a way to achieve anything you set your mind to. The main thesis was that you should let go of all negative thoughts. Instead of dwelling on what you haven't achieved, you should imagine yourself having already achieved your goals.
For example, if you feel overweight and believe you can only boost your self-confidence by losing weight, you should stop thinking about how ugly you look and instead imagine you've already lost weight. Supporters of the law swear by this ability to boost self-confidence and thus achieve more.
The Law of Attraction theory states that when you think positively, your behavior patterns automatically adapt to your thoughts, making those thoughts a reality. You will take more risks and act differently because your self-confidence is at a much higher level than before.
While many people believe the Law of Attraction is just another attempt at positive thinking, others swear by its effectiveness. Many are certain that this system will help them achieve anything they set their minds to.
Strengthen self-confidence the traditional way
While there are doubters of the Law of Attraction, they also know that conventional methods for boosting self-confidence often don't produce positive results. Their claims are based solely on empty platitudes about controlling one's own life or harnessing one's own strengths. Essentially, it's no different than telling someone trying to boost their self-confidence that they should do it with their own willpower.
What you need to boost your self-confidence
If you want to boost your self-confidence, you should be aware that something must have triggered this lack. Being teased about your weight as a child could be a reason why you've never been able to lose weight. In this example, the best way to boost your self-confidence would be to get help losing weight, thus rebuilding your self-confidence and tackling your real goals.
If your lack of self-confidence is due to a friend constantly criticizing you, then it is best to avoid that friend and build up your own self-confidence.
Start by identifying the source of your problems. This can have internal as well as external causes. Don't hesitate to seek professional help to find and address the cause of your lack of self-confidence. Remember, there's always a way to change your circumstances and restore your self-confidence.
