Patrick Meinart is a mobility coach and founder of the Release Fitness Academy . There, he coaches his clients in mobility, squat improvement , pain-free shoulder training , strength training for women, and a hypertrophy masterclass.
Our BIOHACKING KIT also includes a voucher booklet containing various discount codes for our biohacking coaches . One of them is Patrick Meinart. He will give you personalized advice to help you improve your mobility.
In this interview, you will learn why good mobility is so important and what mobility actually has to do with biohacking.
What exactly does mobility mean?
Mobility describes active mobility with the greatest possible range of motion . Therefore, the term primarily refers to improved control and movement . This is achieved in mobility training through adaptation of the nervous system and at the structural level.
The structure here is our body , which adapts to training in the active musculoskeletal system (muscles) and the passive musculoskeletal system (tendons, ligaments, etc.).
How should such mobility training be structured?
Fundamentally, there is no such thing as THE best mobility exercise . Mobility, like any training, is individual and depends on your own abilities, anatomy , and goals . However, variation is the key to success. You shouldn't always just do your favorite exercises, but also the exercises that might cause you the most problems.
The learning effect and positive effects on the body are particularly evident in the more challenging exercises. However, there are certain areas of the body that are often ignored in mobility training. Therefore, every good mobility program should include training of the hands, feet, and head.
How much time should you take for mobility training?
Typically , about ten minutes per day is sufficient. The more necessary mobility training is due to mobility problems or pain, the more frequently it should be done. In this case, it makes sense to spread the training throughout the day.
A little training every day is better than several hours one day a week . Many mobility exercises can also be done on the go: at work, at your desk, at the bus stop, or even at home on the couch.
Why should everyone regularly do something for their mobility?
Mobility means more than just flexibility. First and foremost, it improves body awareness , muscle control, and can correct movement errors . It's also an easy way to get started with training if everything else is perceived as a hurdle. Simply put: Mobility is the simplest form of exercise and therefore beneficial for everyone.
Are you ever too old for mobility training?
There's no age limit for mobility training. It's important to tailor the selection of exercises to the individual . Of course, there are always certain injuries and mobility deficits that make it difficult. Mobility training can generally be performed regardless of age.
What does mobility actually have to do with biohacking?
That depends on how biohacking is understood. In the broadest sense, mobility can be understood as a "hack" when it involves finding errors in the system and specifically reducing them or fixing problems.
Especially when mobility is understood as a biohack, it's essential to consider the individual's approach to mobility. Just as biohacks vary in their effectiveness, the same applies to mobility training.
If a buyer of our BIOHACKING KIT wants to schedule a coaching session with you, what do they have to do?
The easiest way is to contact us via one of the channels, whether social media or email.
How does mobility coaching work with you?
Fundamentally, the client's goals are always my priority . I begin with a needs analysis , followed by a screening . During the screening, I examine my client according to their wishes and determine which movement errors are occurring and what the possible causes might be.
Then the training begins, during which I continually check and test how the training is being received by the client. I primarily use so-called " neuroassessments ," a type of movement analysis of the nervous system , which helps me find the necessary exercises for my client.
Each exercise always has an individual effect and I have to be able to find exactly the right and appropriate exercises for my clients.
Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?
Exercise is important. It's even more important to find exercise that you enjoy and that you can maintain for the rest of your life. Forcing yourself to exercise will never work in the long run.
BRAINEFFECT HACK : During exercise, you lose important minerals through sweat. RECHARGE provides you with new minerals and amino acids after your workout.
